"Poggio alla Cavalla" Tourist Farm is situated in Lamporecchio (Pistoia) in the heart of Tuscany, near Florence, between Montecatini Terme and Vinci, the birth town of Leonardo. The area rests on the slopes of Montalbano, a natural terrace overlooking Valdinievole (with Pescia, the city of flowers and Collodi famous for its Pinocchio Park) and the “Padule di Fucecchio” (the Marshes of Fucecchio), a marsh area of great naturalistic interest.

The privileged geographical location of the tourist farm makes it possible to go on convenient day trips to tourism and culture centres and Tuscan cities of art: Firenze, Siena, San Gimignano, Volterrra, Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia, Arezzo e Cortona. 

You can reach Florence, Pisa and Livorno in 30/45 minutes on the highway (indicated as FI-PI-LI). The A11 motorway, which connects Florence, Prato, Pistoia, Lucca, Pisa and the sea of Versilia, allows you to reach these towns in 30/50 minutes. Finally, you can easily reach the localities of San Miniato, San Gimignano, Volterra, and Siena in 20/60 minutes on the state roads. 

The countryside surrounding the tourist farm is mainly used for growing vines and olive trees and is characterised by low hills (80/120 m), except for Montalbano, whose highest peaks are just over 600 metres.

The surrounding countryside, which is particularly green and rolling due to its gentle hills, appears cared for and orderly as a result of the careful attention paid by small local businesses to farming the land. 

The conformation of the area and the vitality of the countryside have over time led to the creation of numerous small centres rich in:

• small businesses,

• typical restaurants,

• little markets,

• celebrations

• exhibitions and festivals of all kinds: oil, wine, chocolate, brigidini wafers, truffles, flowers, mushrooms cherries and figs.
